Permanent Make-Up

Permanent Make Up

is a cosmetic technique which employs tattoos (permanent pigmentation of the dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup, such as eyelining and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin of the face. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia totalis, chemotherapy, or a genetic disturbance, and to disguise scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, such as after breast surgery.

Procedure

At Prolase Medispa the treatment is done by a properly trained artist.

During procedure you can feel:
– The minimal level of discomfort is present, though every person has a different pain tolerance level. Topical numbing solutions are always used prior and during the procedure.
– Permanent make up can last up to two years depending on skin type and the postcare (peels, sunbathing or constant contact with salted or chlorinated water may affect the outcome and brows will fade much faster than expected ).
– It might take only one touch up after the initial treatment, but in some cases people may need more than one treatment
– There is a possibility of redness, bleeding and swelling right after the procedure
– The final result can not be determined until brows are completely healed (4-6 weeks)
– The color will be much darker in the next few days, but will fade about 50% while you heal the following two weeks.

Risks and Aftercare

– Avoid getting anything on your brows (no liquid)
– Blot the area with sterile gauze for the first few hours after procedure is done
– No rubbing or scratching
– Do not pick the at crust or film that might appear on the third or fourth day of the healing process. It may result in scarring and color loss. The flakes must fall off on their own
– Avoid pools, hot tubs, salted water or chlorinated pools, no saunas for 30 days.
– Do not exercise for 2 weeks
– No makeup on brows during the healing process
– The area will be dry and will be itching, this is normal for the healing process
– No microdermabrasion, peels for 2 weeks after the permanent makeup procedure.
– Dry healing is preferable. If the skin gets too dry, you may apply a minimal amount of coconut oil after 5 days of the procedure to moisturize the area
– You should consult with eyebrow specialist or aestetition/dermatologist before you do cosmetology procedures
– No coffee on the day of the procedure
– No aspirin or blood thinners for a week before procedure
– No retinol on brow area for a week before procedure.

Contraindications

– Pregnancy
– Liver disease
– Damaged area of treatment
– Skin condition like dermatitis, psoriasis near treated area
– Diabetes (consent from a doctor)
Indications for pmu
– Aging. As we age, our hormones change and sometimes a side effect is thinning hair.
– Overplucking. Long-term plucking can result in follicle damage that prevents the hair from growing back.
– Alopecia. An autoimmune disease where you loose hair from some or all areas of your body.
– Thyroid problems. When your thyroid isn’t producing enough hormones, one of the possible symptoms is hair loss.

Microblading

is a form of cosmetic tattooing. This technique may be used to improve or create eyebrow definition, to cover gaps of lost hair, to extend the eyebrows, or may be used as a full reconstruction if the brows have little/no hair. Each microblading stroke is applied individually, allowing the tattoo artist/beauty therapist to control the shape, color and density of the completed eyebrows.
The pigment is applied with a specific tool that has a row of several fine needles to create thin hair like marks in the skin. The pigment is inserted just below the epidermis and the most shallow part of the dermis, making extremely fine natural looking hair strokes.

Procedure

At Prolase Medispa the treatment is done by a properly trained artist.

Microblading is performed by placing pigment or ink in the dermis with the use of a hand tool with attached needles fused together in a curvilinear grouping. The same look can be achieved using a traditional tattoo machine or digital machine using cartridges or traditional tattoo needles, though this technique is called Hairstroke, not microblading. Exactly the same as brow treatments using a machine, the microblading technique involves drawing individual, crisp hair strokes that can be very natural looking. The needles used come in a variety of diameters so that the thickness of each individual hair stroke can be customized to each client depending on the width of their natural hairs as to make the microblading process look more natural.

The hairs are bladed into the skin according to the natural hair growth direction.
